Undulating Terrain

Glowing in the dark, a bundle of aqua-blue lights emits from five glass tubes draped with Argon and mixed with a tiny drop of mercury. A shield of lumpy skin clothes the tubes, watering down the high-profile lights.
Borrowing from calligraphy, we subvert the traditional western language of neon technology and transform this linear medium into sensual brushstrokes. The pressed, pushed, pulled, and massaged bodies are depicted as an undulating plain, in response to contradictorily glamorous Asian massage ads.
在美国的街头,“亚洲按摩”的广告往往过于光洁。皮肤无瑕,好像一场骗局。我们试图还原皮肤的真实形态,于是颠覆了传统的霓虹广告字样,同时借鉴书法的艺术手法,将线性媒介转化为感性的笔触。揉、按、推、拉后的皮肤形成了平面上的碎浪。
